The Kamdhenu, the wish-fulfilling cow of the Pushtimarg tradition, here shown draped in her vastra, the sacred cloth in which the deity and the sacred cow are adorned for darshan. Hand-formed in 925 sterling silver, hand-enamelled, and set with moissanite, it carries a detail rarely rendered in jewellery: the cow honoured exactly as she is in the temple.
The motif belongs to Nathdwara, where Pichwai painting has adorned the shrine of Shrinathji for more than three centuries. The vastra is the heart of that devotional language, the act of dressing, of offering, of care. To wear it is to carry a small piece of that observance.
Every surface is worked by hand. The enamel is laid by eye in the deep temple palette, and the moissanite set to hold the light without overwhelming the form. There is no mould, so no two pieces are quite alike.
It is worn on the bandhgala, sherwani, or blazer, and equally as a saree pin or sir pench, a devotional object first, a piece of fine jewellery always.
